Autumn Term

Welcome to Year 2

Our Big Question this Autumn Term is...

Our Curriculum Overview for the Autumn Term

Beegu

We have been learning about the story Beegu which is all about an alien who crash landed on Earth. We have been writing our own character descriptions, making links with what we’ve already found out about her from the story.

We wondered what Beegu’s home planet might look like and have used exciting and interesting expanded noun phrases to write descriptively.

Super Start

How can we build our class community?

We have been using our Building Learning Power skills to successfully come together in our new year 2 classes. From working with others games, collaboration activities and team work challenges, we have been getting to know each other and develop new friendships.

The Great Fire of London

We have been stepping back in time to the year 1666.

Did you know that after a long dry Summer there was a fire in London?

We have been digging deeper, just like Resourceful Rat, to ask questions and find out all there is to know about this historical event.

Ask me about these significant people from the past...
Thomas Farriner, Samuel Pepys and Sir Christopher Wren

What was their involvement in the Great Fire of London?

Little Wandle Phonics

We have been busily reviewing our Phase 5 GPCs and working hard to complete the code.
